“These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.” ~ Deuteronomy 6:6-9
I bought a little bracelet today with the word “dream” on it. It serves as a reminder to me that I need to keep dreaming, not to get trapped in the survival mode that I feel like I’ve existed in since my husband died and my son was born.
Even though it’s not a Bible verse, it reminded me of this passage from Deuteronomy. I believe there is something valuable in posting Bible verses where we can see them, especially in our homes. At my house, there are verses on little signs all over, reminding me of who my house serves and how much the Lord delights in us. Hanging signs or painting verses on the wall are a good way to be reminded every day of how much God loves us.
