“Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near.” ~ Mark 13:28
I am a lover of snow. Cold weather, cozy fires, fuzzy sweaters, hot cocoa, you name it – I love all things winter. Even shoveling the driveway! But as much as I love the wintertime, even I am ready for some sun and green grass come spring.
The changing of the seasons is something that I think benefits all of us and serves as a great reminder of how we need to live our lives. Summer is filled with time outside, fresh fruits and vegetables, and all the vitamin D you can soak up from the sun! Winter often provides us with more time at home, with family, the early darkness reminding us to get some extra rest.
Even the plants and trees hibernate in the winter – waiting for the sun before bursting forth with new growth. If you are experiencing a time of life when things are slower than usual, enjoy the time of rest. You never know what’s coming next, that may require lots of energy and growth.
