“The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.” ~ Romans 8:6

Today was an interesting day.  First, because I got to witness something very much akin to a miracle.  My high school drama students, who struggled something terrific during their dress rehearsal yesterday, pulled off a performance tonight better than any of us could have imagined.  Their emotion, expression, everything hit the mark, and formed a cohesive show that was impressive to watch.

I also got an email, from someone I haven’t heard from in a really long time.  I’m not entirely sure what to do with it, so I’m leaving it alone for awhile.

Without Christ in my life, being subject to events that evoke emotions all over the chart would be exhausting.  Living like this would bat me back and forth, wringing me of all my energy.  Which makes me thankful that I have Someone who grounds me through all experiences – He lifts my spirits when I am feeling low, but keeps me humble when things are going swimmingly.

As this verse in Romans says, a mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.  More than anything, that peace is what I crave.  And I am so glad that our Heavenly Father has the wisdom to provide His children with just such peace.
