Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
~ Psalm 91:1-2
It’s interesting to think about where it is we truly dwell. So often I consider my house my dwelling place. But in reality, it’s just as temporary as the tents that Abraham lived in so long ago. My house isn’t where I will live out eternity, nor should it be where my heart is, regardless of the sayings that suggest it should be so. Rather, I should look to God to be my dwelling place – He is my refuge and fortress. When all around me is in upheaval, I can still rest easy knowing that the place where I will ultimately lay my head has remained unchanged since before the foundation of the world was laid.
