“Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth.” ~ Revelation 3:10
Hope unfulfilled.
Shattered dreams.
Broken hearts.
It seems like so much of what surrounds us is sorrow and loss. We wait and hope for things that never seem to materialize.
But as Christians, we are commanded to keep waiting – to endure faithfully in spite of everything that heads our way. This can range from difficult to downright impossible, but with Christ we are given the strength to conquer anything.
The real challenge comes in not just enduring, but continuing to hope. That’s where I found the following quote from Oswald Chambers exceptionally encouraging, because there are certainly hopes in my own life that feel hopeless at times:
“If our hopes are being disappointed just now, it means that they are being purified. There is nothing noble the human mind has ever hoped for or dreamed of that will not be fulfilled. One of the greatest strains in life is the strain of waiting for God.”
Don’t stop dreaming – dream bigger. God wants to give you everything good you’ve ever hoped for.
