“Do not judge, or you too will be judged.” ~ Matthew 7:1

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut.  In certain situations, there always seems to be something I’m just itching to say.  Unsolicited advice to share, an opinion to be given.  Correcting behavior that may or may not need to be corrected.

And yet, I’m learning just to let it be.

There are times when, even though you are just sure you know what someone else should be doing, you need to let it go.  Don’t inform them how to live their life; instead, be more concerned about how you are living your own life.  Trust me, I know this can be downright hard, bordering on impossible.  But sometimes you need to let God do the handling, teaching, and correcting – He’s much better at it than we are.

Now, that isn’t to say that if you see a fellow believer in sin, you should stay silent.  The Bible actually says the opposite – you should approach them and correct them out of love.  But sometimes we get so busy informing people how to live, that we forget to live a life that models Christ.

Each one of us is on the path the God has laid out for us.  We all have things to learn and experiences to grow from.  And even though the solution may be very simple to someone looking in from the outside, God has us moving at the pace that will produce the most Christ-like character.  Because in the end, that’s really what it’s all about.
